Topsoil

Topsoil is the upper, outermost layer of soil, usually the top 2 inches to 8 inches. It has the highest concentration of organic matter and micro-organisms. Topsoil can be used for gardens, sodding, planting beds, athletics fields and golf courses.

Fill Dirt

Fill dirt is earthy material which is used to fill in a depression or hole in the ground, create mounds, artificially change the grade or elevation of a yard, prepare a garden for growing and landscaping. A real plus for using fill dirt in these applications is that it’s inexpensive and it’s a heavier soil.

CRUSHED STONE

Crushed stone is a form of construction aggregate. It is distinct from gravel which is produced by natural processes of weathering and erosion, and typically has a more rounded shape. Crushed stone varies in size from 3/8" to 2 1/2”. Some of the different uses for crushed stone are driveways, drainage, around trees, landscaping and as a sub-base for concrete sidewalks, concrete driveways, and patios.

SAND

Sand is a naturally occurring granular material composed of finely divided rock and mineral particles. The composition of sand is highly variable, depending on the local rock sources and conditions. MJF Trucking hauls different types of sand including mason and DEP sand. There are many uses for sand, some which include mixing of concrete, foundations for above ground swimming pools, sandboxes, landscaping, volleyball courts and many more.

ROAD SALT

A major application of salt is for de-icing purposes and anti-icing of roads. MJF Trucking delivers DOT Certified road salt that contains Sodium Hexacyanoferrate (II) which is added to road salt to prevent large salt clumps from forming. This allows the road salt to be spread more uniformly during a snow event.

COAL

Coal is a combustible black or brownish-black sedimentary rock usually occurring in rock strata in layers or veins called coal beds or coal seams. Coal is composed primarily of carbon along with variable quantities of other elements, chiefly hydrogen, sulfur, oxygen and nitrogen. Coal has been a useful resource. It is primarily burned for the production of electricity and/or heat, and is also used for industrial purposes, such as refining metals.
